I ran into this problem not long before first reading this entrie. I went to my town hall and mentioned the "Freedom of Information Act" and the clerk lady said: "I am fully aware of that [the Act]. But I don't think you can solicit business with a dog license owner list." I felt a little awkward to be honest, as if I was the bad guy. She told me to write down my info and she'd get back to me in a few days. Well, it's now been close to a month. I don't think I'm going to fight this right now. It appears this is a widespread problem after reading your post, J.D. You know, did you ever try the mailers that the Yellow Pages offers? It cost nearly $500 for 1,000 mailers.
